What is the reason why the chain hoist cannot be pulled
published:2024-08-05

Under normal circumstances, the operation of a chain hoist is relatively easy. A chain hoist with a rated load of about two tons can be pulled with a small amount of force, which is mainly related to its transmission method. So, what is the reason why a conventional chain hoist cannot be pulled with all one's strength?

If we are unable to pull a chain hoist normally or it is difficult to pull it, it indicates that there is a certain problem with the chain hoist, and the problem is likely to be in these two aspects: ① the lifting chain is stuck; ② The chain hoist is severely overloaded; So don't engage in brute force confrontation at this moment.

Chain jamming in chain hoists is a common phenomenon, where the lifting chain becomes stuck in a gap on the side of the chain wheel and cannot move. This means that the chain can only be transmitted through the normal operation of the chain wheel. Severe overload can also cause the chain hoist to be unable to transmit smoothly, and under extremely high loads, the transmission will become extremely difficult.

When it is difficult or unresponsive to pull a chain hoist, do not forcefully resist. Instead, look for the cause and wait until the corresponding problem is solved before proceeding with the operation.
