Manual reverse chain assisted installation of rotor for nuclear power plant generator

The Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is an important nuclear power construction project approved by the state, and it was also the first nuclear power project in China to install four million kilowatt nuclear power units simultaneously at that time. It was also the first nuclear power plant established in Northeast China.

After completing the site selection, commissioning, and grid connection preparation work in the early stage of the nuclear power plant, the installation of the rotors of the 3rd and 4th generators in the first phase of the project began on August 29, 2014. During the installation process, two cranes with a carrying capacity of 200 tons were used for lifting work. After 4 hours of operation, the 220 ton generator rotor was finally successfully delivered to the designated position. Subsequently, the dismantling of lifting equipment, auxiliary facilities, etc. during the installation process began.

It must be mentioned that during the operation of inserting the generator rotor into the stator of the generator, the staff first laid protective rubber plates and sliding plates inside the stator, and evenly coated the sliding plates with industrial paraffin. After the preparation work was completed, they used a large crane and a large tonnage manual chain hoist to cooperate with each other, so as to smoothly insert the rotor into the stator.

During the installation process of the generator rotor, although not the main lifting mechanical equipment, manual chain hoist solved the problem of difficult rotor installation for the construction team in the critical construction stage with its advantages of high installation accuracy and strong bearing performance.
