Stones have multiple functions, and once endowed with ornamental functions, their value doubles. Moving stones intact into parks or buildings has become a heavy responsibility for lifting workers. In the 1940s and 1950s, the equipment used to move and lift stones was chain hoists. Nowadays, there are various lifting equipment with strong carrying capacity such as aerial cranes, gantry cranes, and truck cranes. Gourds that rely solely on human control can still occupy a place in large tonnage stone lifting operations.

Firstly, people need to accurately lift the stone to the designated position, and when there is no slightest difference, they can use a hoist to lift it. Because gourds are lifting equipment that rely on human labor to lift heavy objects, hoist operators can continuously adjust the height of the hoist hook according to the command of the on-site commander;

Secondly, when lifting oversized stones, people also use tripods and dozens of chain hoists to slowly lift them up. The hoist has strong braking ability and can pause and rest for a moment during the process, so that the stones will not fall off. For heavy and oversized stones, people use cranes to lift them up, while small stones are lifted by forklifts.
