The working principle of the claws of the Guanhang chain hoist
published:2026-05-05

The braking system is the core safety component of the Guanhang chain hoist, mainly composed of friction plates, ratchet wheels, claws, and brake seats. Each component plays its own role and is indispensable to ensure the stable operation of the chain hoist. Among them, the pawl, as a key braking component, directly affects the safety performance of the equipment during its working process. Today, we will analyze in detail the working principle of the pawl.

The braking system of the chain hoist belongs to the reverse braking system, and its working cycle revolves around pulling the hand zipper strip. When the operator pulls the hand zipper strip, the chain will drive the hand chain wheel to rotate clockwise. At this time, the braking system is activated, and the ratchet and the friction plates on both sides are pressed and fitted together, thereby producing a deceleration effect and preparing for subsequent braking.

Due to the effect of the load's own gravity, the entire braking system will exhibit a counterclockwise rotation trend, at which point the pawl begins to play a core braking role. Under the influence of load gravity, the friction plate gradually separates from the ratchet, and the pawl quickly engages with the ratchet under the elastic force of the spring, achieving the first braking and preventing the load from falling.

When pulling the zipper again, the friction plate and ratchet are re pressed and integrated, and the pawl retracts accordingly; After releasing the chain, the load gravity separates the friction plate from the ratchet again, and the pawl meshes with the ratchet again, completing the secondary braking. Throughout the entire working process, the braking system continuously repeats the cycle of "compression separation engagement".

In summary, the pawl is the core component for intermittent movement of the ratchet wheel, and its precise engagement with the ratchet wheel is the key to achieving safe braking and stable operation of the chain hoist, directly ensuring the safety of the operation process.
