How to eliminate the situation of the hand cranked hoist shaking back and forth
published:2024-08-26

There are still significant differences in the structure and operation mode between manual hoists and chain hoists. The driving of chain hoists is mainly vertical downward force, while manual hoists are inclined direction pulling. Due to the direction of the applied force, the process of driving the hand-operated hoist may encounter a situation where the hoist sways back and forth along with the handle. So, how can we eliminate this kind of shaking?

In the initial stage of pulling the hand cranked hoist, it is not subjected to too much tension from heavy objects. At this time, pulling the hand cranked hoist is the easiest time to shake back and forth. The correct approach is to hold the "neck" of the hand cranked hoist with one hand, which is the connection between the hanging hook and the machine body. This is to counteract this shaking with external force, and then slowly pull the handle with the other hand, remember to do it slowly.

When the lifting chain is fully stretched, it indicates that the hand-operated hoist itself has been subjected to a significant vertical downward pulling force. This force will be offset by most of the lateral force during the process of pulling the handle, making it easier to shake back and forth. At this point, we can consider increasing the speed of pulling the handle appropriately.
